Vacation Recap

I got back from vacation Sunday evening, but have been so busy I haven't had a chance to update about the trip. I'm already back to the weekly routine: Wood Ranch, Song, Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society meetings, Hospital Volunteer Training, and hopefully seeing friends and family in between. Also, song camp is this weekend. So, I will be in Palm Springs with all my girls and my favorite Eagle coaches Friday-Sunday.

Now, back to last week. Mom, Christine, and I left Saturday morning for Boston. We arrived that evening and spent a few days with 2nd cousin Kristof and the rest of the Mar clan. Boston is incredible. There is so much history and sites to see. I wish we could have had more than just a few days there to see more of the city. One of the most exciting parts of our time in Boston was when we went on a tour of Fenway Stadium. Just after we went to get coffee before the tour, it started pouring. We didn't have time to wait for the rain to pass and had to dash through the rain to get back to the tour. We were soaked. It was all part of the experience!

On Tuesday night, we took the train from Boston to Portland, Maine. We stayed with my mom's cousin Ann for 2 nights. The first night we stayed with her in Portland and the second night we stayed in her condo up in Sugarloaf Ski Resort. I was really hoping we would see some moose while we were there, but unfortunately they didn't come out while we were up there.

On Thursday, we made the long drive from Sugarloaf, Maine to Stowe, Vermont where the family reunion took place. For the next few days we went to the Ben and Jerry's factory, shopping in Montpelier, slid down an alpine slide, rode a gondola to the top of the mountain, and had a family dinner with all 50 or 60 relatives that were there. It was a wonderful vacation and went by way too quickly.

Now, it's back to reality. I'm going to a PTK meeting this afternoon, then song practice right after that. Finally seeing my best friend for a little run/walk around the lake tonight. Possibly going to Disneyland tomorrow, then getting ready for camp on Friday. Adios!

Tomorrowwwww

I am leaving for Boston tomorrow! The plan is Boston for a few days, then Maine for a few days, then the family reunion in Stowe, VT. I can't wait! Today, I'm getting a manicure, shopping with Jen, getting my hair cut, having lunch with Kristan, doing a target run, and packing. I will just be going nonstop. Then hopefully I can go to bed early because we have to leave around 5:00 am tomorrow morning to head to LAX. So basically... It's COFFEE time! See ya!

Vacation Countdown: 1 day!!!

Last Few Days

I am going to up to the taping of So You Think You Can Dance with my song team today. It'll be a long day but hopefully fun as well. I also got my shift at WR covered tomorrow so that I can take my lil sister to Disneyland one last time before our trip. Then I am getting my hair cut and having lunch with Kristan (who officially is no longer a tenager today!) on Friday. So I really only have fun stuff planned for the rest of the week. Yayyyyy :)

Vacation Countdown: 3 days!

Monday, July 5, 2010

I made it through the 5K yesterday! I did walk for about 20 seconds somewhere in the middle, but basically ran 3 miles. That's a pretty big accomplishment for me. I just need to keep it up. My legs are pretty sore today, but not too bad.

After work last night I was able to go watch the fireworks with my family at Flo Jo Park. It was really fun and relaxing :)

Now it's time to get back to business for a few more days before I leave for vacation. I have 1 more song practice, 2 more shifts at WR, 1 day of taking my song girls to see so you think you can dance, an optometrist appt., and a hair appt. Then it's off to Massachusetts/Maine/Vermont!

Vacation Countdown: 5 days

Silly Me

So, for some reason I told my sister that I would do a 5K with her tomorrow morning. I'm sooooooo out of shape and probably have never run 3 miles at once in my life. We'll see how this goes! Besides being able to finish the run, I am also hoping to get out of work early tomorrow so that I can watch the fireworks with my family. Basically, I'm going to sleep tonight with my fingers crossed. I will report on the results of my wishes later!

Countdown to Vacation:
7 days

P.S. Should not have gone to Friday's yesterday... Fell off the bandwagon due to the Jack Daniels Chicken Strips. However, I am getting back into the swing of this diet again. Hopefully I can stay on track!

One Week

Just about one week until VACATION! I'm stoked! A few days in Boston, then off for some adventures throughout the northeast, finally landing at the family reunion in Stowe Vermont. The countdown has begun... 8 days!

In the meantime, I have a few more shifts at work, need to finish training at the hospital, have song practice, and am going to so you think you can dance with my girls :) Work at the Ranch was pretty good tonight. I'm working again tomorrow and Sunday. Which means, I will probably not have have much time to celebrate the 4th. Oh well! Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

Churros, Ice Cream, Popcorn... Uh Oh!

So, summer seems to be just as busy as the rest of the year. With my job at Wood Ranch, coaching the SMCHS JV song team, summer school, volunteering, and honors society, I still seem to find time to visit Mickey and Friends.

A long and exhausting day at Disneyland/California Adventure with Christine. It truly is the happiest place on earth. However, it seems to be the place of sweets/greasy foods/fattening foods at every corner as well. Dieting is no fun at Disneyland. (I was able to control my hunger/cravings pretty well considering the circumstances.)

On a happier note, we watched Bill Hill and the Hillbillies for the first time (happy I saw it once, but no need to do it again) and relaxed in the afternoon at the Aladdin show. We did our round at California Adventure, riding Tower of Terror, California Screaming, the Carousel, and Soaring over California, all the while looking for hidden mickeys Christine had read about in her tourist book. We also made time for the Columbia boat ride, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Astro Blasters, Space Mountain, and the train at Disneyland.

Overall, it was a productive Disney day. Exhaustion has officially kicked in. Goodnight!
